Septoplasty
What is Septoplasty?
Septoplasty is a surgical procedure to straighten the nasal septum — the cartilage and bone dividing the nasal cavity — when its deviation causes significant airway obstruction.
Common Symptoms & Indications
- Difficulty breathing through one or both nostrils
- Noisy breathing or snoring during sleep
- Frequent nosebleeds
- Recurring sinus infections
- Facial pain or headache
Dr. Dhar's Approach
Structural reconstruction through internal incisions, repositioning or removing the deviated cartilage and bone while preserving as much septal tissue as possible.
What to Expect
Performed under general or local anaesthesia. Nasal splints or packing may be placed and removed within 1 week. Most patients notice improved airflow immediately after healing.
